I made this body of work while wandering across the streets of Tel Aviv in the late summer nights. This is preferable time for a night bird like me. I try to reveal the magic which is over the city in the night -streets and moving objects look so different than during the day.
Recently I've spent a lot of time examining the ordinarily overlooked infrastructure of my home city, the stuff we take for granted as part of a functional urban environment.
Peering into dark, empty spaces. On the outside, looking in. Camera pressed up to smeared, steamy glass. Glimpses of shiny Christmas decorations; cleaning products and hand sanitisers; abandoned drinks and occasional humour. Grasping at fragments. 
The landscape of cities is often the very first image we have of a country. As soon as we land at the airport, with a taxi or a fast train we are taken to a city and we begin to have an impression on the culture, the people, on wealth or poverty and safety.
I discovered Red Hook by chance, making a wrong turn getting off the Smith Street Train Station in Brooklyn. Over the course of the next two years, I returned to photograph this urban, gritty wonderland.
When I was a child, I had a very peculiar, nerdy interest in the political geography of the world.  I loved maps and atlases.  For me, there was import (and fun!) in knowing the location of countries, their geographical features, and the names of their respective capitals. 
Urbanism is the study of how inhabitants of urban areas interact with the built environment. This body of work focuses on the abstract nature of the human experience – the residuals of existence.
Raymond Carver wrote, “What We Talk About When We Talk About Love”; Haruki Murakami wrote, “What I Talk About When I Talk About Running”; and in the few paragraphs below, I talk about what I talk about when I talk about photography.
My pleasure is to play with light while remaining in the shade. Perspective curves take on a particular relief. Use the ordinary geometry of the street to grind it and transform it into a "work of art".
By dusk, the streets of this endless seeming city are being roamed by 'suits'. Its a known, yet overlooked phenomenon. Hungry for bowls of ramen, raw tuna, cold sake out of cans and women, they're being delivered by red taxis to amusement miles in Shinjuku,
A lot of the people seemed somehow lost to me, either geographically, mentally or even physically. It’s that second before they recognise you, taking the picture, somehow giving you an intimate moment with a person you never gonna see again in your life.
Does the world exist because we perceive it or is it that we perceive the world because it exists instead? What is the ‘a priori’ of all things, the origin, the starting point, if there were any?
This portfolio explores the brutal nature of Hong Kong architecture from a street level point of view. Last year Hong Kong captured headlines all over the world with protests primarily against a now suspended extradition bill that would allow Hong Kong to extradite accused criminals to mainland China.
The Cadillacs from the ‘50s got longer, wider, badder (in the best sense of the word) every year. It’s no surprise that whenever Hollywood and the music business need an ultimate symbol of the Fifties, they wheel out the ‘59 Cadillac.
Architecturally, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania punches above its weight. For a mid-sized American city, it has a rich agglomeration of fascinating buildings, largely thanks to the city’s storied industrial past.
The butterfly flaps its wings effortlessly for a time.  It glides for a moment, catching its breath while enjoying a guiding breeze. Then another flurry of activity with no apparent destination.
They’re not necessarily homeless. They may be tourists waiting for their ridiculously expensive hotel rooms to be ready. They may be native New Yorkers who’ve pulled all-nighters at work or school.
Day in day out my eyes and my mind are on the look out. The street is my stage. The challenge is to put the props into order. In a few secs I figure out the script and the casting. Now and then it takes much more time but, never mind, I stop only when fully satisfied.
I grew up in a town near a big city. No matter its name, all locations around the capital are roughly equal. Before being large urban centers which are now were small towns to which, in the sixties, many people went from all over the country with the idea of working in the capital.
Streets without billboards, passers-by who are not looking at their smartphones: you are in Cuba. Time has a relative value, it is the reign of "ahorita" a more approximate ahora (now)
Deep in the winter, after the water has lost its summer heat, the river that flows through the center of Chicago freezes. Not the whole river, just the top layer which becomes decorated with broken ice.
