Fighting the lack of water in Africa with a bathtub: New nude art calendar “Lost in Berlin”.Millions of people in Africa suffer from a lack of clean water. Access to drinking water is a human right since 2010.In Ethiopia not even one in two citizens has the chance to drink clean water.
The company Hasenkamp GmbH and the photographer Kristian Liebrand from Germany try to gain attention for this disaster and at the same time try to offer real help. They decided to design an art calendar and to sell this in exchange for a donation for “Kindernothilfe e.V”. in Germany. This organization needs €25 to offer a child in the slums of Hawassa (Ethiopia) durable access to clean drinking water.
The calendar has 13 different pictures, all involving a bathtub that was put at a special location. The shootings took place in lost places.
The unusual context delivers scenes that make one thing. And that is what Liebrand and Hasenkamp want to achieve. Then only a few people think about what is so common here, a continuous supply of clean drinking water. The pictures on the calendar are shown in a big DIN A2 format and are an esthetic composition of forms, colors and elements. A limited number of 500 was made. The project will amount to a considerable amount of money to finance the “Kindernothilfe” water project in Hawassa, Ethiopia.
