The beauty of The Himalayan Region is its color and mood. I explored almost every season and made trips towards Terrain Region. It was a treat to my senses when I used to watch changes in color of a region just fifteen minutes away from another place getting washed in torrential rain. I realized nature as the biggest chameleon.

Mythologically the Gods are believed to descend to earth to take bath(snan ) on the holy Ganges on this day. Dev Deepavali or the Diwali of the Gods is the festival of Kartik Poornima celebrated in Varanasi,Uttarpradesh in India.
It was in July, 2007 when my flight took off for Kathmandu on a sunny afternoon from Delhi. It was my first visit to any foreign land and I was nervous. I was equally excited to visit a foreign land and that too Nepal.
This series emerged from frustration and desperation. It took birth on its own as if the existence was there but denied consciously. Since we never care for our blind spot and pretend to be smart in every move, it rests there.
They look beautiful, gracious and sometimes mysterious! They are lonely cottages carrying a bag full of stories! I first met them in India, my own country.
It was a rhythm in noir and it continued playing its own tune as I started from Edinburgh. It rained all night and I thought of a sunny morning before the journey. But like a blink it swept Royal Mile with a golden broom, stayed for some time on the rooftops, jumped to the glass windows and then vanished into thick clouds! “Hey! What’s this?” I shouted in vain.
So we headed to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market next day morning. It is around 100 Km from Bangkok city and we took around two hours to reach there.
I could see a small human figure emerging out of the darkness. The steps of the ghat were barely visible in the thick fog. It was like a magical figure appearing suddenly in front of you and you ask for a blessing!
Ashes were flying everywhere. The smell of the burning ghat was choking my senses. I was standing at one of the corners of Manikarnika Ghat, the famous Hindu burning ghat of Varanasi.
Standing on the bank of the Ganges, I could hear the faint sound of a prayer-bell. Someone is doing Aarti (worship) nearby! Suddenly there was a flash of a match stick at a dark corner of the ghat.
While walking through a very narrow by-lane, I asked the Sadhu, “You mean that we all are actors in this stage called Universe?” He smilingly nodded. “And every action has a story behind it! Just be here and take notes of those and you get the best story of life…” He looked at my camera and the indication was very obvious…. Shoot, shoot and shoot… it’s the stage you get it what you are looking...
It took me to reach Kunduchi around half an hour from Dar es Salaam city. There is a Beach Resort and one needs to pay to enter and sumptuous lunch and dinners are available at the restaurant. But the magic happens much before that.

To describe the rich cultural tradition of India, it would be incomplete if “Ganga Aarti” of Har Ki Pauri is not mentioned. In fact it is the heritage any Indian could take pride in.

It was a chance drive as at the last moment the meeting at Black Forest got confirmed. I was in Bregenz, Austria. So we headed to Black Forest. It was a cold February winter and there were hardly any human presence on the road or on the streets.
