My photographs present the human body, with an emphasis on functional body cavities (holes), and their changes as far as significance, functionality and appearance over time.
The body cavities are the first to “take in” our life experiences. They are a constant reminder of the changes we live through, and they change with us.We live in an era of rapid changes, and often have the tendency to try to linger, ignore or repress these changes. We would sometimes like to reverse nature, and keep the holes at their original state and function. My photographs present a more flexible interpretation and perception of body parts, using everyday materials. The photographs reflect a positive and humoristic approach to the human body, and were conceived during my first year of being a parent, when humor helped me in overcoming the irrational and impossible yearning for physiological perfection.
