Alex was born in Italy in 1989. A positive and energetic guy who started his personal enrichment travelling and living in different places and living with locals.

The people met along his Life are still kept inside like a treasure. Every feeling, every emotion he felt, is still alive. The sensitiveness for the small gesture and the simplicity played a key role in the formation of this project idea.

He could be defined as a nomad photographer, for this reason, his shots are not converged only in street style but also portraits or daily life. The presence of so many subjects to whom interact and interplay is amaz- ing. Every shots talks not just about the pictures itself but lets the reader find out the approach needed to obtain it. Starting a conversation with strangers is always intriguing; the conversation before the shot is the way how you let the subject feels at ease with you, seeing the reaction, noticing the sights or feelings; often, they talk about themselves and the final frame will be remembered as part of the subject history and not as only one shot caught randomly.

Since he moved to Vietnam for months for his work, his photography passion came out in all its strength. He collected many different shots about locals, in their lifestyle and personal moments. Fascinated by such a different ways of doing, always heard about, but never lived in person until then.
The kindness and happiness he found in the locals marked deeply his mind. How people could live in such quiet and smiling way having so few things?

The answer were found months later after his coming back. He got a PhD position in Portugal. The first ap- proach to the new “return” was like a punch into the stomach. The habits and customs were, of course, different but what most caught his attention was the sadness present in the subway. People who met each other day by day, every morning, every evening, were lost in their minds. No smiles, just dull eyes all the time. There was something that missed, interactions.

This feeling pushed him to think about this project; why not compare two different cultures with total oppo- site customs?
Started with this purpose, and now widened with the help of a friend, Ryal Nguyen, who is completing the related part about Vietnam, this work will show the Life in Asia and in the European country. A huge inter- cultural project that wants to reach the goal of a publication in a dedicated book. It will resume then, all the simplest and natural moments among Street life and Street Portrait shots that both, Alex and Ryal are living in their reality, and in someway, left an important impression inside them.
