Centuries old Traditions Merge with Time and Space. The Netherlands has a rich tradition in terms of landscape painting: Elizabeth Koning brings to her works elements of this particular style in terms of the 15th century masters and that of landscape painters of the 17th Century.

For Elizabeth using these forms of Dutch landscapes change the most basic elements of nature. She melds together the abstract, the figurative (the clouds, the land itself) and style of portraits painted during the Mannerism period that became so popular following the great Renaissance. For Elizabeth using these forms of Dutch landscapes change the most basic elements of nature. She melds together the abstract, the figurative (the clouds, the land itself) and style of portraits painted during the Mannerism period that became so popular following the great Renaissance.

These works take on a timelessness of reality and form. Dutch landscapes with broad horizons and magnificent cloud formations. In her works, she melds these typical Dutch traditions with portrait art, in particular that of the Mannerism, period (this artistic style came into fashion following the Great Renaissance). These portraits are distinguished by it chilly elegance, highly individual, artificial style and meticulous attention to detail. Elizabeth’s portraits take neither the visual nor the photographic reality as a starting point but use both to make us question the meaning. Elizabeth searches and explores and by doing so relates portraits to time and space, bringing together different media techniques. Elizabeth has portrayed children for many years , she connects & interacts with the children in a way wich allows them to show their deeper being.

Children are being photographed at here studio, and upon special request, at your own home. The work is printed on hight quality materials like Fine Art paper and mounted on diasec with a top layer of acrylic glass. Creating timeless art pieces. [Official Website]

About
Elizabeth Koning

Elizabeth Koning, 1966 Netherlands | Milano, Italy

For many years she lived and worked in Milan, Italy, then to London and then back to Milan again seeing a lot of the advertising world, the hotspots of northern Italy. After a while she changed her job as a model, before the camera into organizing and managing a modelling agency. Through the modelling agency she came into contact with the fashion houses that had to sell their collections. At the same time she worked for a fashion magazine as the assistant of the editor-in-chief. The worldly fashion scene, refined intellectual, artistic, developing taste Italy has given her a deeper cultural awareness. But also of course the unrestrained happiness and hot parties on the islands, on the rooftops, the views, the panoramas and everywhere you went there was ancient art and new, refined taste. After fifteen years, she returned to the Netherlands, looking with a refreshed view at the typical Dutch cultural scene. Elizabeth is married, has a daughter, Ottavia.
