Lothar Troeller is on a mission to discover his New World through his photo road trip. Starting in the North East, he has explored abandoned places in New Jersey, captured breathtaking vistas at the Blue Ridge Mountains, photographed a Battleship in Wilmington NC, experienced the unique sight of crossing Texas at night, and discovered a historic Aviation Bone Yard in Tucson AZ.
After traversing the open roads of the great Salt Lake area, he found his way back home through the iconic Gateway Arch in St. Louis. For sure there are still many more exciting places and experiences for him to discover on future trips. His unique perspective as a German-born photographer provides a fresh lens through which to view the United States, offering insights that locals may not notice. This exploration not only allows Troeller to better understand his own country and its people but also provides inspiration for all who view his work.
Troeller’s passion for photography began at a young age when he fell in love with his dad’s Agfa box camera at the age of 9. He pursued his passion further by obtaining a degree in digital photography from Ludwigsburg College in Germany. His work has been featured in various group shows, including ‘Email Love’ in Strasbourg, ‘911-Here is New York’ in New York City, ‘Children of Fire’ in New Orleans and New York City, and ‘Colombian Resilience – Faces from San Carlos’ in Medellin. His recent accomplishments include winning the Paris Photo 2022 Gold in Portraiture and the Budapest IPA 2022 Gold in Portraiture. [Official Website]
