Nathan Wirth – On October 6th, 2010, Juno award winning, Canadian Jazz greats David Braid (piano) and Phil Nimmons (clarinet) improvised some wonderful, spontaneously-realized jazz compositions in front of an audience at Petro-Canada Hall in Newfoundland, Canada. David asked me to provide some images for the CD booklet, seven of which appear at the beginning of this video. The rest of the images also fit the overall theme of the sea that resonates throughout this wonderful recording of that evening’s music.
David and Phil will be releasing the CD to the public soon; meanwhile, you can view some of my long exposure seascapes while you listen to this wonderful, improvised interview between David’s piano and Phil’s clarinet.
Music: “From Sea to Shining” – from the forthcoming CD St. John’s Suite: Falling Through
