Garden of Eden 2525, is a photo series for a post-apocalyptic dystopian space, where, a “meta” sapiens humanity, faces the debris and the deserted landscapes, as a result of its past decisions and actions.
Aristide (Ari) Bafalouka was born in Athens. He is a film director and photographer. His films have been screened and awarded in many acclaimed international film festivals, broadcasted on many TV channels and distributed in many countries.
He uses photography as a vehicle to combine his passion for fictional visual & cinematic storytelling and his exploration to human psychology and feelings. His photos are governed by the concept of present continuous time, (the anticipation of the “next” frame), the imaginary or the symbolic.
About Ari Bafalouka
Ari (Aristide) Bafalouka was born in Athens. He is a film & theatre director and photographer. His works have been screened and awarded in many acclaimed international film festivals, broadcasted on many TV channels and distributed in many countries.
He has studied physical education and sport sciences in National Kapodistrian University and filmmaking (directing and screenwriting) in Greece (L.Stavrakos film school) and in England (Northern media school at Sheffield Hallam University) for 5 years. He holds a Master degree in filmmaking. In his youth, he was a champion in swimming holding many national records.
He combines his passion for fictional cinematic storytelling and his exploration to human psychology and feelings, by works, that are governed by the concept of time, the imaginary, and the symbolic. His artistic vision is to dive poetically, into the mind and the emotional state of the characters, to experiment with the form, the unexpected, the supernatural, the mysterious, the multidimensional and the universal.
