Often, Anna stands on the cliffs or by the sea, reflecting on what surprises the next day might bring Jersey’s incredible magic constantly invites her to step into its landscapes with her camera, seeking to capture the emotions and unique scenes offered by each fleeting moment. When she closes her eyes and lets silence envelop her, she feels a deep peace that connects her with the places she has photographed countless times. The scenery, from sunsets and the dance of the aurora borealis to the sound of waves, the moonlight, and the reflections of buildings and lanterns on the water, becomes an essential part of her photography.
Her project “MY PLACE” showcases a collection of 20 photographs capturing the most popular and frequently visited tourist spots on the small British island of Jersey, located in the English Channel. The images reveal the island’s charm during sunsets and also at night, with the aurora borealis as a stunning backdrop. These photographs are her favorites because they truly capture the short-lived magic of nature
The inspiration for this project comes from her years of living on the island, observing her surroundings closely, and witnessing the extraordinary natural displays that Jersey offers each day. This year, in addition to the breathtaking sunsets she regularly captures, she had the opportunity to photograph the aurora borealis for the first time, a phenomenon that rarely graces the island. For a long time, she dreamed of capturing this spectacle, and though it is less intense to the naked eye than in photographs, its beauty was so striking that Anna will never forget it. With patience and dedication, she created countless compositions where the aurora subtly enhances the scenery, serving as a magical backdrop for some of Jersey’s most iconic locations
