Laura Berbel | Cover | Laura Berbel is a Spanish-born commercial photographer and videographer based in London, working across the UK and worldwide. She grew up in a rural village surrounded by nature, an experience that shaped her artistic perspective in a unique and rewarding way. Some of her earliest photographs were taken at the age of 10 with an old camera. She had a habit of collecting magazines and art photographs, which she used to create collages. Her passion for visual storytelling extended beyond photography to film and documentaries. At the age of 13, she borrowed her uncle’s video camera and enlisted a friend as her camera assistant. Together, they filmed a “documentary” about the municipal garbage dump, highlighting the lack of recycling awareness at the time. Fully aware of her calling in photography and filmmaking, she left her hometown at just 17 years old. Her journey took her across multiple countries, including the UK, Ireland, Norway, France, Spain, and ultimately back to the UK, where she is currently based.
