Hengki Lee is an Award Winning Visual Artist and Photographer from Jakarta Indonesia.

He started to learn photography and visual art seriously since 2009. Many of his work have been featured in some prestigious International publications such as Black and White Magazine and 1x.com Year Book (A highly curated book of 1x.com). The inspiration for his work comes from poetry, movies and books he reads and the concepts of his works are simply about curiosity, dreams, poetry and emotion.

He does trading for living and photography as his freelance job and hobby.

Inspiration to become a photographer

In 2004, when browsing some pre-wedding photos, Hengki found that photography is so beautiful when he looked at the photos of one great candid wedding photographer in Jakarta. Couples of years later, He decided to join one of local Indonesian photography community website, then He bought His first DSLR in August 2009.

At that time, He didn’t have any idea what to make with his camera. So he just tried to do some conceptual still life shots with very simple lighting method. Then He observed some artistic moody shots from several good photographers on several websites, got interested to try that genre, and doing that stuff until now. [Official Website]
