In these turbulent times, marked by crisis and conflict, the Anzenberger Gallery presents “The Secret Service of Flowers,” an exhibition that offers a visual and emotional respite through the lens of nature. Opening its doors on February 1, 2024, with an opening scheduled for 7 p.m., this collective showcase promises to be an oasis of calm and beauty, extending until May 31, 2024.
“The Secret Service of Flowers” brings together seven prominent artists from Austria and around the world, who explore the floral theme from various perspectives and photography-based techniques. Denis Brudna, F & D Cartier, Jutta Fischel, Natalie Strohmaier, Heather F. Wetzel, Eldar Zeytullaev, and Yelena Zhavoronkova, alongside Laurent Ziegler, present works that are a testament to aesthetics, humor, fantasy, perfection, and poetry.
A highlight of the exhibition is the “GSTETTN” series by Regina Anzenberger, which will be on display in the Collector’s Room as part of the first Klima Biennale Wien. This series captures the essence of Gstettn, a land that symbolizes freedom and nature’s reconquest over urbanization. Through photographs altered with paint, drawings, and found objects, Anzenberger explores the ephemeral beauty of this space, presaging its eventual transformation into a housing development for 3,000 people.
The work “Unaittanable Beauty” by Natalie Strohmaier, a pigment print on Hahnemühle Fine Art Photo Rag, is another centerpiece of the exhibition. Representing the unattainable beauty of flowers, this piece encapsulates the theme of the exhibition: in a world beset by unrest, flowers emerge as bearers of hope, calm, and peace.
The gallery invites the public to immerse themselves in this unique experience, which is not only a celebration of floral beauty but also a reminder of nature’s capacity for resilience and renewal. Additionally, an artist talk with breakfast will be offered on April 20, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., providing an opportunity to engage directly with the creators behind these inspiring works.
“The Secret Service of Flowers” is more than an exhibition; it is an invitation to reflect on our connection with the natural environment and the importance of preserving those moments of beauty and tranquility in our lives. The AnzenbergerGallery, located in the heart of Vienna, warmly welcomes all who seek to find a bit of serenity in art. [Official Website]
