Thirumazhisai is a suburb of Chennai, India, located in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. It was once famous for its traditional weaving business.
Now, weavers of Thirumazhisai are struggling for their food and accommodation. They are weaving dhotis and lungis, by just wearing a piece of cloth. They don’t even having house and they are staying in the weaving house itself. Their work starts by 4 am early morning and end by 6pm for just Rs.200 per day. They are relaxing themselves by smoking a beedi and having a tea. Very sad thing is some challenged persons are also working there.
